Our First Guest of 2025!
Trek Long Island Reveals First Guest for 2025 Convention
After a record-breaking second show, Trek Long Island is gearing up for its third annual expo from May 30 - June 1, 2025.
To kick off the festivities, New York’s only fan-run Star Trek convention proudly announces its first celebrity guest for its next event.
Bonita Friedericy is known to Trek fans for her appearance as Rooney during the second season of “Star Trek: Enterprise.” As part of the A-6 excavation team, this researcher came upon a Borg drone who assimilated her, and unleashed her on Captain Archer and his away team in the episode “Regeneration.”
In addition to her role on ENT, Friedericy has performed in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Preacher,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” “Monk,” and over 100 other characters on TV and film. She may be best known to fans of “Chuck,” where she played General Diane Beckman for all five seasons of the NBC series.
Friedericy is also the wife of John Billingsley, best remembered by Trekkies for his role as Dr. Phlox during the entire four-season run of ENT.
Trek Long Island 3 takes place at the Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge, Long Island, NY from May 30- June 1.
This three-day-long event includes autographs and photo-ops with celebrities, sci-fi-specific vendors, engaging panels, interactive games and parties, and much more for fans of all eras of the franchise.
With an emphasis on diversity and inclusivity, Trek LI brings in scientists, authors, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and many more devoted fans to elevate this convention above similar shows, and give fans the power to shape this event like no other.
Hosted by Library For the Kind, a non-profit organization founded by librarians, Trek LI raises money for charities by donating a percentage of their profits to help children in need. In 2023, their debut event raised over $1000 for the Lavelle School for the Blind, and in 2024 raised $1500 for The Trevor Project and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Tickets, as well as hotel packages in the surrounding area, are available now on their official website.
Stay tuned for more news, updates, and additional guest announcements in the coming weeks and months!
